old Auto wiring in the center console.

what do i do with the wires on the gear select lever from when the auto was in my car (i now have a t56)? there are maybe (just guessing, car is not with me right now) 8-10 wires that i dont know what to do with, I cant just cut them because the lever has to be where it would be in park on the auto, otherwise it wont start. what should i do with all the wires?

also, with the speedo hookup, what EXACTLY do i need to make it work? got a link to where i can buy it?
my car is an 89 IROC with 350 TPI

To fix the neutral safety switch problem, look under the dash near the brake pedal, and find a connecot with a large yellow and a large purple wire in it. Unplug it, and either plug it into the clutch safety switch on your new set of pedals, or make a jumper for it out of a short piece of #12 wire with 2 male slide terminals.

2 of the other wires are for the back-up lights. IIRC there's a switch on the T-56 to hook those to so that they'll work.

Good luck on the speedo.... Jags That Run used to make the thing we need, but I hear has discontinued it. Let us know when you find a solution.

Don't just cut wires, they're there for a reason, understand them and use them properly, or remove them entirely. Don't sodomize your car that way. It gives all of us a bad reputation as owners of these cars when people see them around just hacked to death like that.

thanks for the response!
im not going to just cut them. i dont like to "leave things hanging" so to speak. if something gets done on my car, it gets done right. when i said cut, i meant trace them to where they go and cut them (meaning remove them) but i need to hook up my reverse lights and the clutch's neutral safety switch.
so were screwed with the speedo?
thanks again.
