theres a nice little 350 sittin under my formar v6 bird, im just wondering how much HP/torque a stock v6 rear end with 3.42s can take and for how long it can take it

The rear itself, is the same regardless if it was in a V6 or V8. A 7.65" 10-bolt is a 7.65" 10-bolt. The only difference being the gear ratio. I have seen stock 10-bolts put cars into 11 second 1/4 miles, and of course you will always have the 15 second cars nuke the same style rear. Its just a matter of how well it was built and how you drive it.

 

true, and how well your tires bite on take off, 11 sec have to take it easy though right? I would think the axles would break with slicks????
