Driveshaft problems???
Driveshaft problems???
Ive got a pretty bad vibration going throughout my whole car enough that the dash shakes pretty well. I have heard that the driveshafts are known to be out of balance on these cars is this true? Also would I be able to rebalance it or would I have to replace it with an aluminum driveshaft? This car will put me in bankruptcy lol

Are you sure it's the driveshaft??? Could it be a wheel out of balance? What speed is it doing this at? I mount my own tires and just use a bubble balancer which is good to 65mph if you're careful about it. I get a little vibration at 75mph (which I'm pretty sure is the tires) but it goes away at 80.

an out of balance drive shaft can cause one hell of a vibration at speed....you can have them balanced for about 30-50 bucks at most shops automotive machine shops and they are usually good as new.....aluminum is nice though
I had a BAD vibration problem It was caused by an out of balance driveshaft and the poly trans mount changed my driveline angle. I would go ahead and spend the $45 and get it balanced. If it isn't the drive shaft you will know for sure. As far as the alluminum one goes, I have heard its better however I have had my steel one up to 120 with only slight tire vibrations. If you really cant afford it why get it! I doubt your going to be buzzing around 120 very often.

whether the shaft is aluminum or steel doesnt really make any difference as far as vibration is concerned....
other than the fact that high dollar alum shafts are going to be balanced really well.
if you have your steel shaft balanced you wont have a problem.
ive had mine over 150mph, no problems with vibration
