what kind of trans do i have?

a 1987 firebird came with a th-200 and a th-700- r4 i think?but how do i know what i have in my car..and how can i tell

It is 700R4 Tranny if you have 1 2 D OD N R P on your gear selector.

Being an '87 automatic, it is nothing but a 700R4.
1st Gear: 3.06
2nd Gear: 1.63
3rd Gear: 1.00
4th Gear: 0.70

Rear end depends on what engine.
For a Firebird:
LB8 V6 - 3.42
LG4 V8 - 2.73
