first trans rebuild, need advice
Just wondering, I have my trans disassembled at the moment. I decided to rebuild a spare 700-R4 for learning purposes. Anyway, I have the trans stripped down to the low/reverse clutch assembly. Since I'm a general mechanic that normally does not do internal tranny work, I have no special tools to replace bushings or remove the spring/piston holding in the low/reverse clutches. Any idea how I should go about doing that, or know where I can get to tools to do so? It's gone pretty smooth up to this point. Thanks!
Call a local tranny shop and ask if they will remove the piston for you and what it will cost. They can also install the bushings
and wash your case. Some times it costs less to hire someone
who has all the tools at hand
