Pulling Manual Trans
I'm pulling my trans to put in a new clutch / rear main seal and all thats left for me to do is unbolt the tranny itself from the bellhousing and pull it out. In my Haynes manual it says I should use guide pins in the top holes once I take the bolts out and then unbolt the bottom. Is this really necessary?

Actually, I believe they say to use guide pins to ease the installation of the transmission when putting it back in. Its easier to align when its at the right angle. Either way, I never did it myself and ended up alright putting it back in.
