The instructions say that I have to remove the spring that controlls the lockup clutch. Inorder to do this I must drop the valve body. Is this absolutely necessary? Can't I just wire up the switch without removing the spring.
The car has no computer and it is an early 700 with b&m rebuild kit. I is pre 89 and has the smaller imput shaft. I has a fresh rebuild on it only a few months old.
I don't have an electronic speedo sender, it is mechanical. I got the proper controll for a cable driven speedo. What do I have to do?

Come on guys. I really need some help here. Have any of you heard of having to remove that spring before?
Should I just hook it up without removing the spring and see if it will work?

my question is does that spring have to be removed!
Has anyone else removed the spring?
I know how to hook it up. It came with instructions and pictures, but it says in some cases that the spring needs to be removed...
Why only on some transmissions and not on all?
