Interesting flywheel info.

I just got off the phone with a long convertation with the local GM dealer about flywheels. this is what i found out, it may or may not be of interest to people, but might help some who are confused.

GM lists 2 part numbers for flywheels for 87+ F-bodies.

14088650 - is listed for VIN E - 305 TBI. this is listed as a Std Weight 153tooth flywheel for the 10.4" clutch

14088446 - is listed for VIN F - 305 TPI, this clutch is listed as a light weight flywheel 153 tooth for 10" clutch.

both myself and the sales person thought this was a little odd, so we looked up the clutch disk, and presure plate part #'s for both the TBI and TPI engines. the both list the clutch disk as 10.5" same part #, same pressure plate part #.

so we figure it is just a whole series of typos (GO GM!) and that either of those part #'s for the flywheel are usable.

anyway this has probably been said before, but when i did a search for flywheel, i couldnt' find much info, and because of that i called the dealer
