2001 T/A WS6 rear fit?

I know a guy that is thinking of getting a 12-bolt for his 2001 T/A WS6. I was going to ask if I could use this on my 3rd gen or not? I didn't know if it is still the general 4th gen rear or if it has been changed since the post was done about installing it in a 3rd gen.

Please let me know. I'll try to find out what ratio it is also. I know it will be able to take anything I can out at it. The guy is running 11.51@117.55 on this rear right now. I am not planning on putting that much to it though. The only thing I am worried about is if it is damaged or weakened at all.

It should fit since they didnt really change much with the rear end over 82-2004. Just gonna have to work with the Brake system though.

If its just an ABS car it will bolt right in. A car with ASR has 2 brake lines, and you will need to fabricate some lines - this assumes you get the brakes with the rear. Otherwise, the only other thing you need to be aware of is the rear is 4" wider than a 3rd gen rear. That means without 4th gen wheels, your current wheels will stick out an extra 2" per side. And that might make them stick out of the wheel wells and look retarded. The rear I have is out of 2001 TA also. He went the same route and installed a 12 bolt.

Just exactly how retarded will the stock wheels look? I would rather not buy any new wheels however.

Personally, I don't know. I have 4th gen wheels on my car. I know there are a few people that have done it and said it didn't look too bad with 16" wheels. Just measure 2" from the outside sidewall of your tire and cut a cardboard template of your tire and place it where it would end up. If the sidewall (cardboard) touches the wheelwell lip, it's too far. Personally, I like the the tires to sit in about 1". But remember, you are also changing your rear track width without changing the front. Ground effects like a lot of other people have make the tires look like they sit in farther - and you don't have them. The quarter panel on our cars really curves in behind the rear tire, and is more pronounced without the ground efffects. The rear will LOOK wider than the front. Not trying to scare you or anything, just letting you know what to expect.
