Car: 1988 Trans Am
Engine: 305 TBI
Transmission: th700R4
which tranny do i have

I have an 88 t/a with the LO3 TBI 305
I'm not sure what kinda trans i have.. (too lazy to go underneath and look up serial number, but when i change my shifter cable i might) I have an automatic but i heard that all trans am's with the v8 came with the 700 R4. i want to believe that but idk anyone who knows this can be of great help

Unless someone has been screwing with it and decided to put something else in then you have the 700r4 which is basically a turbo 350 with overdrive.

yeah.....assuming it is stock, you have a TH700r4.
