how hard is diferential removal and reinstallation?
i replaced the outter bearing on the drivers side axle but it still wobbles slightly when i drive...........i was told that if i dont have a posi then i shoudlnt have a inner bearing.......is this true? and if its not.........how hard is it to take out the differential and reinstall it.......like will i have to readjust everything or what?
thanks
thanks
the inner end of the axle is splined into the carrier and that's what supports it, the carrier has a bearing on each side, which i guess you could say is the inner bearing for the axle, in a round about way. if you pull the carrier and replace a bearing, or anything else, and reinstall it all you have to do is make sure you put the shim(s) back where they came from. should be a shim on each side, the bearing rest on the shim, about a 1/4" thick usually.
