Torque converter question >>

I have a question about a torque converter. Will a converter possibly go bad in any way by being stored over time? I may get one used from a friend, he has had it in a storage bin for a few years now, it was fine when he removed it, just wanted more stall. I need a converter and don't care to spend any cash if it is not necessary. Should it still be good? I don't see why it would go bad, but feel I should ask anyways. Thanks.

It should be fine. Only thing I could think of that would damage would be if water somehow got in it.. Rust..
