Need stronger tranny... again

RE: '91 Z28 5.7 with 700R4
I've searched and read 5 pages of messages. Now I think it's time to post. I really don't know much about transmissions at all so any advice I can get would be very helpful.
Well my tranny went out and the shop recommends a complete rebuild. I just had it rebuilt about 3 years ago and I drive like an old lady so I don't know exactly how or why it went. The guy at the shop (a different shop) quoted me $2000 including labor and 1yr warranty.

This is what he said he can use:
Corvette servo
shift kit
superservo kit for the 1/2
heavy duty sunshell
high energy clutches/bands
heavy duty torque converter

After doing research I've decided to tell him to use the Transgo shift kit and a poly trans mount. How strong would this combo be? I'm only running my stock L98 now but I want something strong enough for a ZZ430 (I can dream can't I?) If I go with this trans shop what else should I tell him to use? Are these good parts?
I also looked at Pro Built's 700R4 which is $1395. Don't know if it'll be cheaper to have the shop just install that. Will check tomorrow.

Please advise....
Oh yeah, one last thing.. what exactly do I need so that I can shift and stay in OD at WOT? Thanks!!

2 Grand for a rebuild???? Just get the probuilt, it will be cheaper. I can't imagine them charging more than $250-$300 to install a trans.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with Pro Built. But the only thing is their warranty says you need to use a stock or one of their recommended torque converters. There's a company around here that custom builds excellent torque converters and they'll even rebuild it for you later. (If I replace my engine) They say it has a 2.8 multiplier vs the stock 2.2. I'd love to go with their torque converter but Pro Built's tranny also. Dana from Pro Built, is this possible?

If not do you know how a Vigilante might compare to this 2.8 multiplier one? Also, I'm stock now but in a couple months I'll be replacing my engine. So I want a torque converter to match.

Also, Dana from Pro Built: Do you know how long it would take to deliver the street/strip 700R4 for me? Also do you know how much shipping would be? It would be shipped to San Ramon, CA. Zip code is 94583.

Thanks!

What is the name of the company offering you this torque converter? And what is the diameter of the TC? Stock TC's are rated at 2.2 torque multiplication, but in reality they are closer to 1.5-1.7. What rear end gear ratio are you running?, this has a lot to do with the torque multiplication ratio you want. It takes about 3-4 days to build a unit. the cost should be about $100.00 or less, to ship you a trans, and 2-3 days for delivery. Depending on the stall you want, will determine the stall ratio (torque multiplication).
