world class t5 rebuild

my t5 tranny is in some serious need of rebuilding. I dont know if its a world class or not. Can i use a world class t5 tranny rebuild kit in a non world class tranny? If i can will it make any difference in my tranny?

The kits are not interchangable in any way. If you have a NWC, you have to buy a NWC kit.

I got a video ($17) and rebuild kit from www.hanlonmotorsports.com

The kit was very complete, and the video was fantastic. I highly recomend them.

thanx i know a guy who would rebuild it for 250 but id have to take it out so maybe ill save the dough and do it myself

I would highly recomend getting the video first, watching it, tearing down the trans and inspecting it, then making a decision as to whether to rebuild it or replace it. If there are damaged parts, you can easily spend a lot of money fixing the trans verses getting another used one in better shape one and going through it with a rebuild kit.

If you do have to replace it, try to get a WC trans. They have upgraded bearings and syncros in them, but they are not really any stronger. They just shift a little better and less drag in them because of the bearing upgrade. The rebuild kit cost a little more for a WC, but not that much.
