considering a T-56 swap, will 98+T-56 work in my 91 TPI 305?

I have a 91 z and I know the 93-97 m6's will swap to my motor with the correct accessories, but will a 98+ be able to adapt as well? The reason i ask is i am planning on doing a ls1 T56 swap and want the 98+ tranny, and i don't want to spend the money for the 93-97 tranny and then have to sell it and get a 98+ when the time comes for the ls1. If you know what i mean. I would rather just buy the 98+ t56 and keep the original parts for the ls1 swap in future but also have it converted to my 305 tpi for time being.
thanks
Kyle

You should probably PM Fatal88 on that one. I know if you're sticking with the L98/LT1 you should look for 93-97 T56's. If you are going to be doing a 98+ LS1 motor swap, then I'm sure getting a 98+ T56 in there is possible. Expect some unknowns in that swap. Tim (Fatal88) is running 98+ EVERYTHING in his 88 3rd gen. Engine, tranny, even the suspension and interior. So you know its possible. I'm pretty sure the 98+ T56's wont work with your 305 TPI for now. So its going to be all or nothing ...
