well since the search is toasted i figure id ask the question here.....

i was wonder how diffucult is it to put a 4th gen rear personally a 12 bolt from a ss camaro in my ta......... i figured if i can get it for say 200, then it would be worth it....... i hope it has at least 3.73's in it....

how diffucult would this task be in your opionions?

I don't think any fourth gens come with 12 bolts. They're all the same weak 7.5" (or 7.625"...don't know specifically) 10 bolts. And I don't think any of them come with 3.73 gears anyway. Besides that, they are a direct bolt-in, but they are wider, which means you might need different rims if you want your car to look "right". What kind of rear-end do you have now?

I bought the rear out of a 99 ss and it was a 10 bolt. It did have 3.73 with a torsen limited slip.

badgta, i dont know where you get your info from but there never was a 12 bolt installed in any 3rd or 4th gen fbody from the factory as a general car. the firehawks, Ws6, ans SS cars have a better posi unit from SLP installed. also, no 3.73's where offered either,IIMC. the 4th gen rear in my car came from my last car, a 97 ws6 trans am. it had 3.42's in it from SLP
