i have recently run into some good news. I am going to be getting my formula back from my buddy for parts, and it has a TPI, and the harness and comp.

I curently have a 88 firebird, with a 355, carb. what i want to do is swap the TPI on my car, but since i have the 350 turbo its not a CC tranny, is that going to matter, or will i have to find a 700 r4, also the harness was for a 5speed setup.

only thing that you might run in to is the ECM trying to engage the TC lock up.

 

well if in the future i come up with the funds to buy a 700r4 or 4l60e how difficult would it be to wire it up? since i have the harness for the T-5.

But will anything go wrong if i use the 350 turbo for now?

The computer couldn't care less if there is anything there to receive the lock-up signal. It's just a grounding path.

If the computer is T-5 also, it won't have the lock-up function. So, if you go TH700 later, you'll have to take care of that in one way or another.

If I were to take the speedo sender out of the 5 speed could that go into the 350 turbo? or would i have to take one out of an auto? Which one? thanks
