I was under the hood of my 85 Trans Am, Replaceing the radiator due to ice expansion in the tank.I noticed the trans lines were not there. when i looked harder trying to figure out where in the hell they were,i also realized thet the guy i got the car from a week ago bypassed the trans lines(connected the two lines with rubber hose)what is the reason for this if any,,im not the smartest man in the world and im just a young backyard makanik,,but why in the hell did this guy do that,,what will be the result of the stupid error,,please tell me that the transmission won't be trashed because of this,,,Some one please help a young third gen brother in need

Many reasons one would do that but its not a good thing. If the radiator inlet/outlet's are plugged it means the trans cooler in the radiator is shot and leaked fluid either one into the other. The car could have been running hot due to a transmission problem, slipping or whatever. You need a transmission cooler either the one in the radiator or an aftermarket one at least 3x bigger then what is reccomened for your car if you plan on running just an aftermarket cooler.
