12 bolt in a 4th gen?

did any 4th gen's come with 12 bolt rears? my buddy trashed his 93' v6 maro and he's parting it out, he claims he has a 12 bolt rear, i went to school with him, but don't REALLY know him well, i know him well enough he'd hook me up if i wanted it, but at the same time i don't know if he's misinformed or BSin me

Yup, no such thing.... AFAIK the last 12-bolts to go in F cars were used in about 72

To identify a 12-bolt vs. a 10-bolt (which is what he actually has), all you have to do is look up under the car and count the bolts on the cover. If there's 10, it's a {drum roll please} 10-bolt! In order for it to be a 12-bolt, there would have to be ____ bolts (fill in the blank).

No point in arguing with somebody who can't even count to 12. Nod approvingly to his BS, and move on. He's the one making an idiot of himself, not you; and arguing isn't going to change that, all it will do is make you look like an idiot too.

SLP does sell 12 bolts that are direct bolt ons fo 4th gens so would work for 3rd gens too, just sme issue with a 4th rear. But as stated above the 12 bolt didn't make it out of the early 70's in F-body's

not likely but there are aftermarket 12 bolts. take a look and count the cover bolts.
