T-56 swap

I'd like to find out what I need to do a T-56 swap into my '91 Z. I recently acquired a '97 vette T-56 but shortly found out that it would not be worth my time to install. I wanted to know how much I could get for a '97 T-56 that needs a rebuild? Also, I wanted to know how much I could get for my TH700R4 w/2500 miles on it? Its a 700R4, 3000 stall, flexplate, and shifter (all B&M parts). The Money that i get from this would go toward the swap. Any info will help. Thanks

r90camarors - I wrote a tech article here on thirdgen.org that should give you insight to the T56 swap. Let me know if you have any questions after reading the article...

IIRC, the C5 vettes already had rear monnted transaxles....and even if that isn't true, they still had the LS1 which means that you would have to change the input shaft and bellhousing so I don't think you would have gotten too far with that. Best bet would probably find one out of a 94-97 F-body.
