Tranny problems...i think
ok, it makes a clunk noise when i hit te gas hard from a stop and sometimes slips and grinds...its a 700R4 in a 89 camaro with a 2.8...what is wrong with it, ive been drivin it with it slippin but now it takes like 5 secs from when u put it in drive till it goes...whats wrong here?

i'm not a tranny expert but I know a bit, so I may be wrong, but...
have you checked the fluid and changed the filter regularly?
sounds like a pump problem. like you aren't getting enough pressure to engage the clutches properly, but if you have been driving it like that you may have also crapped your clutches, so it is probably time for either a rebuild or a new tranny.
again I may be wrong, but that's what it sounds like to me.
