Problem with Driveshaft?
When i drive my car u can hear sort of like a sharp metal scraping noise that increases with the vehicle speed. Someone told me that maybe the universal joint bearings are bad and are basically deteriorating...Is this what that noise is? And how much would it cost to get new bearings and or a new universal joint put in? Please help...

That's very possible. If it sounds like it happens around 3 times or 6 times for every wheel rotation, then that's probably it.
Take the drive shaft out, and take it to a drive shaft place (or a big truck repair shop, they can do them too, for cheap); it should cost about $15-18 apiece for the U-joints, there's 2, and probably $25-30 or so labor to put them in.
