tranny going out

i got a th200-4r for pretty cheap, it has a lot of miles but i didn't have much of a choice(i'm only 15 and don't have much money). heres what its doing, when you shift into gear it takes about 2 seconds to engage, dosn't downshift properly when you hit the gas sometimes, makes a faint knocking depending on speed(mph not rpm), and once in a while it will rev up and not engage.

is it on the way out? i plan on rebuilding it when i get the money for parts. my brother went to work for a big dealership a few months ago and is learing how to do trannys now but i don't know how long it will take before he can help me with mine. do you think it will last a year or 2? how many miles do you think?

sounds like it could be on its way out and then again it could be something minor try adding some seal conditioner to it alot of times the o-rings in the tranny get dried out and it takes longer to build pressure makes them take longer to engage a rebuild is most likely in your future but this might get you by till you can afford one . hope this helps
