9 bolt vs 10 bolt

ok, i just purchased a 1990 iroc with the L98 and G92 options. the car has a 10 bolt with 3.23 gears. i have had a BW 9 bolt from an 88 or 89 WS6 with 3.45 gears that i was planning to put into my 86 iroc. my question is, would i be better off putting the 9 bolt in the 90 or are the 3.23's going to be adequate for what i want my car to do? i would like the 90 to run right around low 13's high 12's...can this be done with the 3.23's or would i be better off with the 3.45 9 bolt? i know the 10 bolt will hold into the high 12's so strength really isnt an issue......what do you think?

the gears in the 9-bolt are gonna help you out either way, my opinion is that the 9-bolt is a far better axle, so use it in whatever car you plan on beating more

The 10-bolt is also far more common and if you have a 10-bolt from 90+ with disk, it is almost a better piece and cheaper to rebuild and you can swap gears easier.

but the gears will help .... but you can still run low 13 high 12 with 3.23's it is not impossible.

and if you don't need your 90 IROC disk rear let me know and I will take it off your hands
