9 bolt question

9 bolt question

how many of u guys with 9 bolts have a clunk when u put it in gear like reverse then into drive ? and i know its not the u joints.

I used to have one. It wasn't my rearend...it was my torque arm bushing. Replaced it with an ES piece and it took care of it. Odds are yours is worn out too.

mines a brand new energy suspension torque arm mount and energy suspension tranny mount.

Mine does that too but it can be a good thing. The owner before me did a performance rebuild on the transmission which makes the shifts a lot harder. It also gives a nice big jolt when you put it in gear. Does your transmission have a performance rebuild or a shift kit? This will cause this to happen.

had the same problem with my car
turned out it was the lower control arm bushes

hmm, the lca bushings make sense, i didnt use my original lcas either, i used the ones that came with the tranny. i was thinkin it could be the spider gears, cause if u get the posi to break free and wheel the wheels around in opposite directions its notchy but that could just be the way it is?
