i need some help here wich would be better for durability gas milage and still have power have alot of low end


P.S how hard is it to make the 6 speed fit in my car will it bolt in

sorry dont know much about trannys

The Richmond 5 spd doesn't have overdrive, so it would be bad gas consumption. The T56 should be an easy swap with the right pieces. I think you need a new crossmember and have to shorten the torque arm. You could also look into a Tremec 5 spd.

i found a tech article on the t56 if i can find one reasonable ill go with that but otherwise the 5 speed thx for the idea with with a tremec too!

I put a Tremec TKO in mine a couple months ago.
Real happy with it and with the kit from Fortes it was a bolt-in deal.

Axle/Gears: 10 Bolt 3.73
Fortes TKO Kit includes: Bellhousing adapter (uses T5 bellhousing), Crossmember spacers, Adapter U-joint, Electronic Speedo Adapter (for whatever rearend gear ratio you have), Backup Light Switch, Shifter (w/o Stick) and 3 Quarts of GM Synchromesh Fluid for about $2200 including shipping.
Not cheap, but will hold up to lots of power and torque.
Tremec 3550 is a couple hundred less, but is rated at less torque.

if i buy just the tremec or richmond can i use parts off my t5 to get it to bolt in or do i NEED the kit
