TH350 Question...

I just found out that the 2nd gear synchro is gone out of my T-5. I have pretty much a brand new TH350 sitting at my friends house, and I'm wondering if it's pretty much just a bolt up install, and will it easily work with my L03's setup?

If it does work, will I notice a difference in performance in the car? I understand the TH350 is a 3 speed with OD, are the gear ratios anywhere like a T-5? Will I lose performance other than the good old manual launch?

Thanks in advance.

the TH-350 is a 3 speed without Overdrive, it will bolt up to the motor but you will have to buy a swap kit for the tranny. the crossmember is different and you will need a place to mount the torque arm from the rearend.

A manual doesn't launch as well as an automatic with the right converter.

Can anyone eleborate on this? How much is the conversion kit, can I get it from someplace like NAPA, and whats usually done to mount the torque arm to the rearend?

If I just drop the car&TH350 off at the transmission place, do you think they'd charge alot to install it? Or am I better off doing it myself with a friend?
