Synchro bad or just the throwout/pilot bearing?
Im getting a clutch installed in my RS as I type this,
but I have a question. A few weeks ago just as the clutch started to really get bad, I lost the 2nd gear synchroniser. I didnt DO anything that would have killed it...It just started chattering little by little untill it didnt work anymore. Now 4th gear is starting to do the same thing, losing it little by little.
NOw, my clutch is GONE. I know it wasnt lining up right because the throwout/pilot bearing was gone, causing the car to shudder really bad sometimes going into gear and accellerating.
I was told on this board that "90% of the time a bad synchroniser is just a cluch not lining up right, replace the clutch and that'll fix the problem..." or something like that. Is that true or am I looking at a T-5 rebuild?
Thanks.

its probably the synchros....if your pilot bearing was bad it could ruin the input shaft and the crank snout....but if your using a stock bellhousing everything should be lined up fine.
if your clutch wasnt installed correctly that could be part of the problem...but what your describing sounds like a classic t5 ready to die scenario.
