Ok, I have an 82 Z28. Right now its has a built T-350 and 3.73 gears. I have really been thinking about swapping to manual for the extra gears (3200 rpm @70 mph) and driving enjoyment. This summer I am swapping in a 327 so I thought this might be the perect time for the swap. My question is...What is the Cheapst Option? Easiest Option? And what is gonna hold 350-400 hp out of this motor...I have been looking at T-56 swaps but I dont know if I would be able to pull it off by myself....Any feedback would be appreciated!

 

T56 is about as easy as it gets to handle that kinda power...........maybe a Tremec 5 speed?

 

Is there anyone with more specific instructions for automatic to manual T-56 swap, other then the one in the tech section? I mean Is there anyplace thats does every little step by step?
