Well I ordered my new 2500-3000 stall converter today. I did a search on the install, does anybody know the timeframe on putting one in? I read some say you have to drop the tranny and others didn't say anything about that, I would assume that the tranny needs to come down but not sure. I ordered the 30 spline, they only had a 27 spline and a 30 spline for 700R4's. I hope that was right, I posted a question to the stall people to make sure it's right.

yea HITHERE need to drop the tranny to put the new TC into the tranny. when puttin the new TC in put some tranny fluid into the TC before installin it and around the shaft and then install it. HITHERE havent heard anyone say HITHERE dont have to reomce the tranny to install it.

 

Yep. definately have to drop the trans to replace the TC. Like 89fastlookinRS says, coat the TC hub and seal with trans fluid or STP and install it onto the trans. Make sure it it all the way back so that you can barely get your fingers in between the pump/bellhousing and the TC. Your sig says you have an 89, then the 30 spline would be correct. Also the the TC can not be installed onto the motor and then the transmission. Trans and TC must be removed and installed as a unit.
