how hard to rebuild?
hey guys, just wondering if it was worth the trouble to try to do a rebuild myself? Got a TH 350 in her and it blew up around october. Well the weather is getting nice and after building my new comp i dont have a bunch of money to take to a tranny shop. I have a friend who can rebuild it for me, mostly just pay for parts type of deal. But If i cant get the tranny out to him with out the car being towed it will create problems. So im starting to wonder how hard is it to do with the videos and manuals i always hear about. And how long does it usually take? Another thing is i wanted the rebuild to have some improvements happen to the transmission. i've heard of adding more cluth packs and changing a few different shafts for more durablity, i rather have the main rebuild done now and have it refreshed once a year or so to keep up with it. Main reason i want to do a upgrade for higher performance is due to the 500hp/torque engine it will have sooner or later.

A Turbo 350 rebuilt from any of the major parts chains is probably cheaper and easier than the headache of trying it yourself. They run probably about 500 or so, though I have not looked lately...
