Grinding noise from under car

hey all, i got a problem and it goes alittle something like this........when i start my car up, there is a loud grinding noise from under the car. It sounds like it is coming from the clutch or the tranny. WHen i am driving the car, it goes into each gear perfectly fine and smooth. So i dont have any idea what is going on. It only makes the grinding noise when i start it up, and it seems like the longer my car sits, the worse the noise is when i start it up. THanks for any help you guys can give me.
