Vacuum Gauge messing with vacuum advance???

I have a vacuum boost gauge in a gauge pod right now and I ran the vacuum source for it off of the line that goes to my vacuum advance canister on the dist.. Could this be screwing with my timing advance or engine vacuum. Its 6' of vac line t'ed off of the vac advance line. Should I try running it off something else. I need to get the original line that came with the guage (its a harder, smaller plastic line).
Thanx
Brian
