i need some info on the detent cable please

i have a rebuilt 700 r4 transmission in my 85 t/a, the builder said he added a vette servo and a stiffer 2nd gear. but he said he got the wrong detent cable and had to rig it up to work right and now i swapped in a 350 in place of my 305 and im having problems getting it to shift right, i have a sonax tv cable adaptor because of my edelbrock carb but can anybody tell me where to get the detent cable, part number, and how much? i think i found one at auto zone for like 21 bucks but i wanted to keep it stock if possible so it would last longer.

ok, i found 2 different cables, what should i get? 700-R4 1981-92 39.5" cable w/ 45" wire, or 700-R4 82-92 cable 45.2" 52.4" wire, what do you guys think? im guessing since my cable is too long that i should get the 45"wire?

What is the distance from the TV cable bracket to the pin on the carb? If it is only 4.5" to 5.0", then the shorter cable should work.
