What would be the best torque converter for my car?

I have a canadian 1988 Pontiac Trans Am GTA, 305 TPI with a 700 R4 transmission. I have absolutely no modifications... Wich one would give me the best results? I heard you should install a torque converter that is 500-700RPM less than the peak of your car. So If my car have his maximum torque @ 2800RPM, I should install a 2100RPM torque converter? Is that right? What will be difference? I mean will my 0-100km/h be faster, my 1/4 times etc etc...? And by how much approximately? Is there some draw back (except for the fuel hehe...) Thanks a lot!

Going with a tight 2,400 rpm stall 9.5'' torque converter (A.C.T., or Vigilante are good ones), this will give you the most gain with the least (if any) side effects.
