400 hp and a low milage 700r4?

low milage meaning 40,000 miles stock motor.how long will a 700r4 (stock converter)from a 92 gta last behind a 400-450 hp supercharged l98? 3.23posi 245 street rubber.just a cruser with ocasional burnouts and many miles of high speed crusing (90mph).oh and i almost forgot some stoplight racing.

are there any mods that would signifacantly increase the trannys life?

i've already installed a deep pan and a tranny cooler thinking of a trans go kit along with the vette servo?

i'm pretty sure that i'll be in the 400 hp area with this setup
l98-4 bolt roller cam block-speed density ecm
paxton sc 6lb boost-water injection
holly 52mm tb
30lb svo's
ported plenum
asm ltr's
edelbrock base
zz-4 camshaft
afr heads-64cc
1.6 pro magnum roller rockers
slp 1-3/4 headers
slp catback
msd6al-btm

thanks
pete

This is more of a bump because of my lack of knowledge in the area.

But I think, I stress THINK, that they start to die around 350hp. Please don't take this statement as absolute truth. I'm sure if I'm wrong people will correct me.

Add the Trans-Go Performance Shift kit with accumulation, Corvette servo, and both boost valves. That should keep the unit alive for some time. I would go with a 9.5" torque converter also.

is the stock torque converter going to be a problem or just hinder the performance of the car?
was thinking of a new torque converter but wheelspin is a problem now and i think with more stall would only get worse.
as for the other parts is it safe to assume that i could install them myself?
i would think it's no harder than building the moter
thanks
pete

You don't have to get more stall. The weigh savings alone from a 9.5" should be a tremendous help to you.

i hope your right it would be awesome to be in the 500hp range. but if i'm putting out over 400 hp at the wheels i'll be happy for this summer.
now back to the converter i'll spend the cash on a new converter (a vigallantie)if someone could tell me hard numbers on a high hp car.i understand the better torque multiplacition and higher stall would help a lower power, lower torque moter but my supercharged 350 tpi with street rubber it could burn the rubber off the rims now(and i have no plans of drag radials or slicks)
so what would be the real benifit?

Trans life??

Hello

I have a 92 GTA and in 40,*** miles i am on my 3rd trans
First stock one died on warrenty, Second at 40,*** miles
I Finally had the trans rebuilt with all high end parts (all that i could afford) and a trans go shift kit to boot, good luck with yours
I hope that you have a lot better luck than i had with my first 2
I can not say if the third will last as it was built last AUG and was only driven around 250 miles or so, good luck ...GTA
