whats the t56 good for?

whats the most HP/torque a t56 will stand up to? sorry if this has been asked before, couldn't find anything with a search.

I think it's around 450 hp and 450 lb ft tq, at least for the stock units.

what makes it fall apart? the clutch disc can be replaced if it burn sup....so is it the gears that actually can't take the wear? ive always wondered what actually "falls apart" on a tranny when it's under shock or heavy load.....
