Should 3rd gear shift point be higher after rebuild?
Should 3rd gear shift point be higher after rebuild?
I recently had my 700r4 rebuilt with a trans go shift kit, vette servo, vette governor, and some other misc performance parts. It seems to shift much later (around 50mph) into 3rd. Compared to my other vehicles it is shifing late. Also it feels like there is more pressure being built before the shift. Hard to explain other than it feels to me (and my dad) that the tranny isn't shifting as soon as it should. I have adjusted the TV cable all over and I get the same results out of 3rd gear. 1st and 2nd feel great...no concern there.
Is it possible that this is the result of the new parts in the tranny...like the shift kit? I don't want to be burning up a new tranny.
