What is that little tube thing coming off the top of the T-5?

I just got a 91 T5 I'm gonna install. It has a thin platic tube that has some kind of deelebopper on the end of it ( also platic) that has a bend in it that goes upward. I don't know what it is and I'm pretty sure my 84 T5 doesn't have it.
It's also got a huge kink in it so I tried to bend it back last night and it broke.
Anyone know what this thing is? Do I need to use it for proper working of my new trans?

as the tranny heats and foams the oil up it will tend to pressurize and oil will leak from it

Why would you want to plug it? It doesn't connect to anything. It just hangs there. Your not going to gain anything from plugging it.

Cause I broke it, it was all bent and when I went to bend it back, it broke halfway.

Anyway I fixed it, it should be fine.
