Axle/Gears: 9 bolt / 3:70
Any "Royal Purple" users?

I need to put new fluid in my T-56 and was hearing a few things about the Royal Purple company.... Any users? What are your opinions on it?

Don't use it. Ive heard their oil breaks down after a couple thousand miles. Don't know about the tranny fluid though.

That is very interesting. At the plant that I work at they switched to Royal Purple and now instead of rebuilding the pump motors every eight months they go three years now. These motors run constantly without turning them off for three years. I'm still not convinced that it thins out. I am convinced that it is great oil. For a T-56 I'd definitely put some in it. I would say Redline is excellent also.

Yeah, i dunno about their tranny fluid, but there have been several engine oil analysis' that have come back showing very negative results with royal purple. That thread you read is just the tip of the iceburg. It seems like it is a great oil at first, but after a couple thousand miles the viscosity thins out a lot. After all the things I have heard about royal purple, I wont be putting it into my engine any time soon.

Never used Royal Purple, but if your looking for something better go with Redline, that stuff I do use, in both tranny and rear, and it's good stuff.

any of you guys watch HP TV???? well you see the episode last season about the 2000 SS that they swapped Royal Purple into and dyno tested???? well that guy is a fellow Middle Tennessee Fbody member... and they put in Royal Purple motor oil, tranny fluid, and gear lube and he picked up 7 hp... dyno proven!!!!!
