estimated gains
I have a 2.77 rearend... and supposedly my car will have around 350-380 rwhp when it is done.... what kinda 1/4 mile time improvements would i see going to a 3.73 or 4.10 rearend??? i need to know if it is really worth the cash and effort to swap

Oh man with a real power output in that area, you would see very significant gains assuming your traction is consistent. Considering how much difference shorter gears make in less powerful 3xx cube engines, I feel the decision is an easy one to make. Go real short... 410's I think you said - I agree!
I think a gain of at least .5 exists between 2.77s and 4.10's and with the power you have in mind that is a conservative guess on my part.

As you said in your intro post... I read things before I respond
Let me clarify that I assume you'll have the suspension to handle this kind of RWHP. If not, then keeping taller gears would help you to not spin like a ****, but IMO this is a band aid at best... the real way to go is to setup your suspension and get those short gears... As far as the use of street tires, well, they grip once you smoke in the box for a couple of seconds. My street tires managed a 1.88 60' recently at the track.... thing is, if you don't burn em, they suck ***... but we all know that anyway. WHen it comes down to a car that is running 13 - 14 ets I'd much rahter smoke a set of cheapo street tires than invest in expensive DR's or even StrtDR's... however, you are talking about some 12 second power... you have to do one or the other (smoke em or buy DR's) otherwise you are sacrificing some very significant traction! Just my outlook.

i have no problem smoking some tires... my brother owns a shop here and i get tires for cost... so that helps... if i could find a extra set of IROC rims i would put some fatty drag radials on them for at the track.....
