hey,
sorry to beat this to death but i feel liek everythign i read on here is contradicting itself... i jsut ordered a slp take-off zexel torsen (sp?) differential. how do they really work? alot of what i find now is about the new version too....
the more i read im nervous i got the wrong thing...

i have a 1990 rs 305 tbi with i believe 2.73 open differnetial, right now. i would take the cover off as everyone says, but unfortunatly the car is 25 miles away at home and im stuch at college for 2-3 more weeks. i think what i want to end up at is 3.42 posi (shoudl i get 3.23? i want the extra acceleration but don't want my gas mileage to drop much, don't want a car getting 15-20 on teh highway..).... i figure i will look at ebay or a junkyard for the gears adn get the cheap slp take out and be set. its not like this is big racing, but i don't want a one wheel peel. it may never even see a track.... but i also don't what if i understand correctly is that one wheel slips, then the other, then continues to transfer even if you are goins straitwith your *** end flying back and forth... but im on a real college budget.... if i had whatever i wanted i think i would go with a mechanical locker i could control or a powertrax no-slip....
what should i get? did i get the wrong thing?(if so pease re asap so i can try to cancel) can i beat the price or get it and see how it feels? also , shoudl i consider biting the bullet and gettign the powertrax no-slip or sonethign more expensve?
one hting i like abotu the no-slip if i understand wright is that you don't ahve to set up gears and also it deon't go with only a specific carrier 2 or 3. that way i col dput it in right away , by myself and think about gears later... then i would only need to find the gearsand a three series open diff. in teh junk yeard and reinstall my powertrax.. are there ever deals? i think my version goes for $399.xx...

also i was thinkign abotu goign with one of teh install kits from advanceauto as my brother wors there and i codl porg get teh $90 one for 70 or the $118 (chicago something?) for under $100, much differnece if in not really racing( but i will prob have some fun..
