Installed the alum.d/shaft. A couple of ?'s

Hi all,

Thanks for all the help in the installation, only took 20 mins Half the time was spent getting out and putting it in or out of gear to loosen or tighten the nuts!

The vibration I had at 90 has now gone up to 105-110mph, which is an improvement. It isn't actually a vibration but more a drone/hum- enough for me to stop pushing the throttle down. This only started after I swapped in my new rear end (2.77 to 3.32 or so BW 9 bolt with POSI) As the aluminium driveshaft has helped should I get it balanced? Any ideas? The U-joints I used looked great.....

Thanks

The larger diameter driveshaft moved the vibration up in speed. I think you have answered your own question though. "This only started after I swapped in my new rear end (2.77 to 3.32 or so BW 9 bolt with POSI)". I would be looking at a pinion bearing related problem.

I would agree that there might be a problem in the rear. The aluminum d/s help eliminate those vibs, but there still could be problems in the rear. You might want to get some marking compound and check the wear pattern on the gears.
