New guy loses tranny =(

Ok, none of you know me, im new to the board as of 2 days ago.
Anyways, i need some opinions on a transmission.

Today on my way to work, i took the streets instead of the highway, trying to find some mustangs to beat down. I noticed my tranny was slipping from 2nd-3rd, and 3rd-4rth. I take off from the light, and my car won't shift out of 1rst. I checked all fluid, and determined the tranny was done. So now i'm looking for a new transmission. I wanted to put a t56 in it, but i don't have $1,500 +...so i was looking online and found a 700r4 Race Transmission from Monster Motorsports Transmissions, in Florida. I have never heard of them so i don't know how good of work they do. I can get the tranny from them for around $700 bucks. Good deal? Anyone know this company? Any help would be appreciated. Thankz, sorry so long.

Josh

Also, my car loses oil pressure after i drive it hard. When i sit and idle, it drops all the way down, untill i take off again. If the engine is cold, pressure is ok. I think its maybe head gasket? Any opions would help. Thankz again.

Here is what they say about their stock rebuilt 700R4:

"This transmission is for any type of stock/street use up to 250 horse power."

That is the one for $700. If you planned on anything in the future, then you would need to get the Monster 700R4 starting at $1,000. I cannot answer you on how good they are, I have never heard of them. sorry.

the offer they gave me was for a new transmission (not the rebuilt one that only handles 250hp)...

A head gasket will not affect oil pressure. Check your oil pressure with a gauge of known accuracy while the factory gauge is showing low pressure. If it's really an oil pressure problem and not a gauge problem, then it sounds to me like some short block work is in your near future.
