i am in the process of swapping the tranny in my 87 iroc. i am installing a 9" t 350. i have a b&m street & strip shift kit installed and i bought the b&m swap kit. i have a couple of questions for the guys who have done this.
#1- i could not swap the speedo gears, they were totally different in the 700r housing and i could look at it them and tell they wouldnt swap. any ideas?
#2- will the 700r detent cable work? i think the one on the turbo is too short.
#3- will i have any problems with the lock up converter wiring? the turbo is a non-lock up.so i have no where to put the plug for lock up. i'm worried this will cause problems with the computer. if so how can i fix it?

Sorry I can't be much help to your post but I can offer this:

to find out if leaving the lockup harness disconnected will cause a problem, try it now, before you swap trannies. Assuming the car is driveable/runnable, just take out the plug and start the car up or take it for a drive, see if it sets a light or a code. I have an '83 Z28 and nothing happens when I disconnect the wire... the tc just wont lock up. (I wonder why )
