How long does a ploy trans mount last?

Hey I've had a poly trans mount for 22 years now. If I were to swap trannys, would I need to replace it?

I've had one on a car I bought in Aug 98 and it's been on three different transmissions; two 200-4Rs and a 700-R4. I'm not replacing it when the car gets its next trans. either

Hmmm, can't speak for him, but I don't think the Prothane® was out back then. Either that, or E.S. marketing has invaded my head.

I just installed the Spohn Torque Arm in my Z-28. The Energy Suspension tranny mount is about 3/4" taller than the stock one. I called ES and they were aware of the problem and said that they were redesigning the mount for 3rd gens. Steve Spohn confirmed that. I bought the Prothane one and it was only 1/4" taller than the stock.

Installed mine in '97, still using it, no problems. Before that, I was going thru 1 stock one a year!

The cars a motor sports edition so Mecham Racing put them in when they modified the car, 21 years ago so I couldn't tell you what brand they are, unless I called Mecham Racing.
