One of my buddies told me that he thinks that their is a posi on my (doner) Trans am and i could swap it off of that and put it on my V6 87 bird. is this true? if it is i dont even know what it looks like, does anyone have a pic of what it looks like?

 

it is very possible, I had an 86 z28 and that had 3.23 gears, posi, and 4 wheel disc brakes, All straight from the factory. If you have the rpo codes for the donor, find the 2 codes starting with "G" and that should tell you gear ratio and if it's posi or not.

I don't have any pics, but I wouldn't worry about just swapping the posi, just swap the whole rear end. It would be a lot easier than pulling the old one apart and trying to get the correct install on the carrier and gears.
