Bad Linkage? Hard to find gears....
Last night pulling out of my driveway, I noticed it was hard to find reverse on my 700R4 and the shifter was really loose and the buttom was easy to push. I have to pass the gear and slide it up again to find the gear. Reverse works perfect and every gear works like a dream. It's just a bitch moving the damn shifter. Is this a tranny problem? I have another gear selector (whatever it's called). Should I try replacing it? Thanks!

It needs a shifter cable.
Whenever a shifter seems to have a problem, step 1, before even trying to figure out what's wrong with it, is to replace the cable. It's cheap (maybe $20), and about 95% of the time, it fixes it; either from the actual replacement, or because you find what's wrong with it during the process, and when you fix it and put in a new cable, it shifts like brand new.
