rearend or clutch?

I went to visit my mom on mothers day(and to change my oil of course) and as I was pulling up on the ramps that I have pulled up on for the seven years I've had my car I had a big problem. The car wouldn't make it up the ramps! It just lost power and almost died no matter how much gas I gave it! Smelled like burnt clutch real bad too, but the clutch didn't slip( the rpms didn't increase dramatically) and I couldn't hear anything rearend or clutch or otherwise that sounded as though it was spinning excessively. Anyone have any ideas? Oh it's an Lg4 with a T-5 and 9 bolt posi. engine and rear have over 200,000 mi and tranny was just rebuilt two years ago. The clutch has been in since '99 and is pretty worn( chatter during take off, noise when clutch pedal is out with tranny in neutral( pilot bearing?) and full pedal travel for clutch engagement.

Kind of hard for anything but the clutch to cause that. A rear end certainly can't "slip", or make bad smells while sitting still, or cause the car not to be able to transfer torque.

You need a clutch.
