need help wireing up torque converter
ive converted my car from tpi to carb, so i no longer have the ecm controlling the torque converter lock up. i want to rig up a switch for it so i can lock it up on the highway but i cant figure out wich wires lock it up. there is one tan/black stripe and a green one that come out of the back of the transmission that dont go anywhere, i was told grounding both of these would lock it up but it doesnt. does anyone have any idea which wire(s) i need to ground or apply power to lock up the torque converter? the tech article on here doesnt solve my problem, because the asdl is useless without the ecm hooked up. i need to directly wire it some how useing the wires comeing out of the tranny

ok i have more information now. there are two plugs comeing off the tranny, one at the back that has one green and one yellow -> these im pretty sure are only for the speedo and nothing to do with locking up the torque converter. the plug near the center of the tranny on the drivers side has a tan/black stripe and 2 purple wires. the 2 purples go into the fire wall to the dash some where. and the tan/black stripe goes no where. the green one comeing off the plug at the back of the tranny also goes no where but im guessing the ecm used this one for some kind of speed reading so its useless for now. any ideas? im also gona post this in the electrical board just in case

Ignore the rear connector.
You have 4 wires on the lock-up connector...Looking down from the top.
In my experience, the front outer gets 12V and the rear outer gets grounded. Put a switch on the ground wire. But it really depends on how it's wired inside to be sure.

The dk green wire is the wire that tells the computer that the tranny is in 4 th gear. The tan/ blk wire is the wire that the computer grounds to lock up the TCC.
I'm not sure, but apparently some 700R4's ground the dk green wire when it goes into 4th, and some un-ground that wire when it goes into 4th. If you have a multi-tester, go for a ride with the tester connected and see what it does. If it grounds it going into 4th, hook up the dk green wire to the tan/blk wire and you should be set.

How do you go about hooking up the switch to ground it? Do you just want the circuit to open? say when the switch is on the off position the circuit runs like normal then when you slip the switch it opens the circuit?
Can someone elaborate alittle? Im not to great with wiring but I also need to do this. I checked the tech article and its even more confusing.
I dont know maybe i should stop staying up till 3am and trying to wire my car up
